Empowering Our Economy

by fostering self-determination in our community

Our new building in South Minneapolis will have a significant impact on the American Indian community. It will serve as a central hub for community engagement and cultural preservation, offering spaces for collaborative work, trainings, workshops, events, and other activities that celebrate our cultural identity. Additionally, the building will support the growth of Native-owned businesses, providing a supportive environment for them to thrive. By aligning with the goals of the American Indian Community Blueprint, we can promote economic development, preserve our cultural heritage, and empower our community. This new Indigenous asset-building center will be equipped with training center, office spaces, and a small business incubator that will provide aspiring American Indian entrepreneurs with access to capital and resources.

Through the support of Mni Sota Fund and this new building, we can work towards creating a more equitable and sustainable future for the American Indian community, building intergenerational wealth, and fostering economic development.

In Ojibwemowin, Ozhi means to build, make, or form.

Our Ozhi Capital Campaign is the catalyst that will allow Mni Sota Fund to build a new headquarters, and form an even more robust team, while making indigenous prosperity the norm throughout Mni Sota Makoce.
